Your thoughts have not shaped me
Nor seen where I will end.

I am not an artist,
drinking up the waters of your praise
I am not a singer,
my voice warbles and creaks every note
I am not truthful,
my lips can only lie
I am not strength,
you will see me bend with the wind
I am not beauty,
scars and deformations pock my body
I am not faithful,
my body will belong to others
I am not pious,
my prayers stab at the wind in anger,
I am not the life you wanted,
I will only hold you back
I am not the shadows of insignificance,
I will follow you wherever you go
